Real Estate Services
The Real Estate Services focus area provides legal representation to eligible community-based organizations and housing developers seeking to return vacant properties in Baltimore City to productive use through acquisition and rehabilitation.
The types of legal matters addressed include:
- tax sale foreclosure
- direct purchase from the city (if the property is city-owned); and or private owner
- private donation.
- acquisition planning;
- ground rent redemption;
- property consolidation and state property tax exemption applications;
- lien release requests;
- construction and financing documents; and
- legal representation on commercial and corporate governance matters.
To apply for legal assistance from the Community Law Center, please complete and submit an application along with the nonrefundable application fee and all requested information. Beyond the nonrefundable application fee, an hourly rate is charged for the attorney's time and clients are responsible for direct expenses (filing fees, postage, copying expenses, etc.) related to the cases.
