Real Estate Services Project
The Real Estate Services Project
reflects our commitment to community
revitalization by helping to put derelict, abandoned properties
back into productive use. We offer legal representation to community-based
organizations, housing developers, and individual
property owners in acquiring and redeveloping
Baltimore City’s vacant properties.
The Project's
assistance with acquisition
methods include:
-
tax sale foreclosure
- direct
purchase from the city (if the property is city-owned); and or
private owner
-
private donation.
In addition, the Project offers these real
estate legal services to communities and nonprofit developers in
Baltimore City:
-
acquisition planning;
-
ground rent
redemption;
-
property consolidation and state property tax
exemption applications;
-
lien release requests;
-
construction and financing documents; and
-
legal
representation on commercial and corporate governance matters.
