Program Divisions

Community Legal Services Project: Provide communities with the legal tools needed to make their associations stronger and to combat a variety of the negative influences threatening the health and safety of their residents.

Pro Bono Project: The Pro Bono Project matches client organizations with volunteer attorneys in situations where a staff attorney is not assigned.  CLC's network of hundreds of volunteer attorneys provides tremendous expertise in a wide range of legal areas.

Project to End Predatory and Deceptive Real Estate Practices: The Project to End Predatory and Deceptive Real Estate Practices is spearheaded by the Law Center's Director of Research and Policy.  This project is attacking the problems of deceptive and fraudulent real estate transactions, illegal property flipping and predatory lending, which are devastating the region's neighborhoods.

Environmental Justice Project: The Environmental Justice Project provides pro bono legal assistance and advocacy to give communities a voice in land use decisions and address the environmental threats that are hindering community revitalization efforts or endangering the health of the neighborhoods.

Real Estate Services Project: The Real Estate Services Project works to transfer vacant houses or houses in need of rehabilitation in Baltimore City and put them into productive use.

Small Business Legal Services: The Baltimore region is filled with talented and creative individuals who have a great deal of entrepreneurial spirit but need a bit of legal guidance to create and/or grow their small businesses. Are you one of those people?

Many important steps must be taken between the development of an interesting concept for a small business and the time it becomes profitable and sustainable:

  • deciding upon the most appropriate business entity,

  • filing the necessary paperwork,

  • leases,

  • contracts,

  • negotiations,

  • employee benefits,

  • liability issues, etc. to consider.

The Small Business Legal Services Project helps low to moderate income small business owners in the Baltimore region navigate these issues successfully.
