Community Legal Services Project
Working with community leaders, the Project Attorney
advocates for improvements by using legal tactics such as:
-
protesting liquor license renewals and transfers;
-
drafting
Articles of Incorporation and bylaws to help associations obtain
501(c)(3) status; and
-
seeking legal remedies provided for in common law
nuisance and drug nuisance abatement laws.
CLC and its community association
partners are working to drive out drug dealers, teach people about the
law, convert overgrown vacant lots into vegetable gardens, report crime
and grime to 911 and 311, and board up vacant and debilitated buildings.
Community associations within Baltimore City
needing help from CLC should send a
completed application and the $100 application fee to
the Community Law Center.
