The Community Law
Center Serves as a Nationwide Clearinghouse to Monitor the Nature of
Complaints
Concerning Mortgage Loan Servicers
In response to the increasing number of homeowners from
Maryland and throughout the country who have contacted the Community Law Center
regarding the servicing of their mortgage loans, the Law Center agreed
to serve as a Clearinghouse to track the volume and nature of complaints against
loan servicers filed
by homeowners with state and federal agencies nationwide. The tracking
information will:
-
Provide
homeowners and consumer advocates with a sound basis to support requests for
state investigations.
-
Provide the
impetus for hearings on a national level to address the issues raised in the
complaints.
